Tulsa firefighters responded around 12:30 a.m. on July 29 to a fire at the long-vacant Vista Shadow Mountain Apartments, located near 61st and Memorial. Flames were seen coming from a chimney, and while crews quickly contained the blaze, nearby units were opened as a precaution. No injuries were reported.
The complex, once home to hundreds of residents, was evacuated in 2021 due to serious safety violations and has remained a point of concern in the community. With redevelopment proposals recently shared by city leaders, this latest incident highlights ongoing safety issues at the property. Fire investigators are still determining the cause, and increased security patrols are expected in the area.
